How we handle your case
Multidisciplinary tumour boardYour case is not decided by one person alone. It is presented to a board where surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists and other specialists jointly agree on the best treatment for you.
Direct coordination with medical oncologyIf you need chemotherapy before or after surgery, the sequence is planned jointly. You will not have to act as a go-between among specialists.
Priority pathwayIn cancer care, timing matters. We have a pathway to shorten the interval between diagnosis, the necessary tests and surgery.
One surgeon throughoutYour dedicated surgeon will be with you, from the first visit to your follow-up appointments, with a direct channel for your questions.
Procedures
Whenever the case allows, we operate laparoscopically or robotically: less pain, a shorter hospital stay and a faster recovery, which also makes it possible to start any subsequent cancer treatment sooner.
How long does it take to have surgery after diagnosis?It depends on the type of tumour and whether you need prior treatment or further tests. At your first visit we will give you a specific estimate for your case.
Will I need chemotherapy?Not always. The tumour board decides based on the type and extent of the tumour. If it is needed, it is coordinated with medical oncology before or after surgery.
Can I ask for a second opinion?Of course, and we think it is reasonable. We will provide your reports and test results without any difficulty.
Can I bring someone with me?We recommend it. A lot of information is given at these visits, and it helps to have someone you trust beside you.
